Our Journey

From One Treatment Room to Building Opportunities for Others

Every business has a beginning. Ours did not begin with a large clinic, investors, or a team. It began with two people willing to work hard and keep learning.

After immigrating from Vietnam to the United States, Phivi began her beauty career as a nail technician. She built experience, became a salon owner, and eventually realized that working harder alone would not create the future she envisioned. She needed to develop specialized skills that offered greater value to her clients and a new direction for her career.

That realization led her to cosmetic tattooing. Together, Phivi and Anthonye committed to refining their craft and building a business that could grow beyond the two of them. The path was rarely straightforward. Each stage asked them to adapt, invest in their skills, and rethink what success could look like.

— Humble Beginnings

Our first studio was 600 square feet. It was a treatment room, classroom, and office, often on the same day. When students arrived for training, we moved furniture to make room for class. When training ended, we rearranged everything so clients could return the next morning.
There was no extra space or luxury. Every client helped us grow, every student helped us become better educators, and every dollar we could spare went back into the business.
Those early years taught us a lesson we still carry: You do not need perfect conditions to build something meaningful. You need the discipline to begin and the willingness to improve.

— Resilience Through Adversity

When COVID-19 forced us to close temporarily, the future felt uncertain. For three months, our doors were shut. We used that time to rethink the business, strengthen our systems, and prepare for what might come next.
When we reopened, we expanded into a 1,500-square-foot location. The new space allowed us to welcome more clients, teach more students, and continue investing in the future we believed was possible. It represented more than growth in square footage. It was a commitment to keep building.

— Betting on Ourselves

As the business grew, we faced one of the largest decisions of our careers: whether to keep leasing or invest in a permanent home. We purchased a commercial building of more than 10,000 square feet.
The building needed renovation, planning, and a considerable investment of time and resources. Where others saw a daunting project, we saw a place where cosmetic tattoo artistry, education, beauty services, and entrepreneurship could grow together.
That decision laid the foundation for the next chapter of Micropigmentation Academy & Clinic.

— Building a Destination

Throughout 2023, we transformed the building into a professional home for clients and students. We developed treatment rooms, classrooms, and shared spaces with one goal in mind: to make every visit and learning experience more thoughtful, welcoming, and effective.
Micropigmentation Academy & Clinic continued to grow as both a treatment destination and an education center. As we served more clients and trained more artists, we also learned that growth brings new questions about the kind of business we wanted to build.

— Redefining Success

After years of building a traditional salon team, many of the talented professionals around us were ready to pursue businesses of their own. Their ambition reminded us of a belief that had been growing with the academy: success can also be measured by the opportunities we help others create.
Rather than rebuild the same employee-based structure, we shifted toward a collaborative model for independent beauty professionals. They could serve their own clients and grow their own brands while sharing a supportive, professional environment.
The size of the building, once a challenge to fill, became a way to make room for other entrepreneurs. That change reshaped the direction of our company.

— The Birth of Lux Harmony

In 2025, that vision became Lux Harmony, a beauty collective designed for independent professionals. Our work expanded beyond cosmetic tattooing to create a place where specialists in aesthetics, lashes, nails, barbering, and other beauty services could build their businesses under one roof.
Each professional owns their business and serves their own clientele. Together, they offer clients a destination built around skilled service, individual expertise, and a shared standard of care.
Lux Harmony gave that collaborative model its own identity and purpose. We were building more than a larger space. We were building opportunities for others.

— A New Era of Focus

Today, Micropigmentation Academy & Clinic and Lux Harmony operate as two distinct businesses with clear purposes.
Micropigmentation Academy & Clinic focuses on cosmetic tattoo artistry and education. Phivi and Anthonye remain lead artists and educators, bringing their expertise in natural brows, lips, eyeliner, scalp micropigmentation, advanced training, and mentorship to clients and students. Lucy supports the experience through client communication and appointment coordination.
Lux Harmony is a beauty collective where independent professionals can grow their own businesses within a supportive environment.
Our next chapter extends beyond treatments and classrooms. We are developing more structured education and business training to help beauty professionals move from learning a skill to building a lasting career.

Our Mission

Looking back, our journey has never been measured only by the size of a building or the number of services offered. The purpose behind each change has been to create opportunities: for clients to feel more confident, for students to develop lasting careers, and for independent professionals to build businesses of their own.
We believe growth is possible because we have lived through the uncertainty, hard work, and decisions it takes to keep moving forward. Now, we hope to help others do the same.
